July 2026

Dear Cougar Coaches and Club Sponsors,

The Burlington Cougar Club (BCC) is excited to begin another year of supporting the Burlington School District and the outstanding academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs that make Cougar Nation so special. As we enter our fifth official year, we want to sincerely thank you for your partnership, encouragement, and commitment to our students.

Since our founding, the BCC has been committed to working alongside coaches and club sponsors to strengthen student opportunities, reduce fundraising burdens where possible, and provide additional resources that help your programs thrive. While we know we cannot meet every need, we hope our support allows you to spend
more time focusing on your students and less time worrying about fundraising.

Our Mission
The Burlington Cougar Club is dedicated to supporting student-focused academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, clubs, and organizations within the Burlington School District by:
• Raising funds to purchase equipment, materials, and services that directly benefit students and staff.
• Providing volunteers and encouraging community involvement in student activities.
• Promoting excellence, school pride, leadership, and good sportsmanship throughout Cougar Nation.

Founded during the 2021–2022 school year with input from school leadership, coaches, community members, local businesses, and individual supporters, the BCC was created to strengthen Burlington High School programs while helping streamline fundraising efforts. Local businesses also encouraged a coordinated approach that would reduce repeated donation requests while promoting and supporting businesses within our
own community whenever possible.

We recognize and appreciate the relationships you have built with local businesses and organizations. The BCC has no desire to replace those partnerships—in fact, we hope to strengthen them. If a business expresses interest in supporting your program while also becoming a BCC member, we welcome that opportunity.

Businesses may designate the programs they wish to support through their sponsorship. When a coach or club sponsor secures a White, Black, or Red Level Business Membership, the majority of that sponsorship can be designated directly to the coach's or club sponsor's program. As our membership grows, so does our ability to
support the many academic, athletic, and extracurricular needs throughout Burlington Schools.

Business Membership packets are available on HERE. If you have questions or would like assistance visiting with a prospective sponsor, please reach out to any BCC Board member—we're happy to help.

Presentations typically last 20–30 minutes, and we encourage coaches, sponsors, and whenever appropriate, student representatives to attend and share their needs and goals. Please note that the BCC is generally unable to fund items already provided through district funding unless those resources have been exhausted or a documented funding shortfall exists. All funding requests and approvals are coordinated with and subject to review by the Burlington High School Liaison to the BCC, Athletic Director and Dean of Students, Jake Trahern. As we prepare for another exciting school year, we look forward to partnering with each of you to continue building opportunities for Burlington students. We value your ideas, welcome your feedback, and are always interested in learning how the BCC can better support your programs and help strengthen Cougar Nation.

Thank you for everything you do for our students. Your time, dedication, and leadership make a lasting difference.

In Cougar Spirit,

The Burlington Cougar Club Board
